Recommended Trailer Wiring Harness for a 2017 Porsche Macan

Hello, I have been reading the details for putting a Draw Tite hitch on my Porsche Macan 2017. They are very helpful, including the fascia tips. My questions: - how do your customers address electronics and wiring once they get the hitch? - Is auxiliary transmission cooler required for towing with the Macan? - are there any other connectors I need to worry about? My interest is in pulling an aluminum horse trailer, one designed in Europe for being towed by cars and SUVs. Thanks,

The Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 75940 is a confirmed fit for a 2017 Porsche Macan and an excellent option with hidden cross tube so you get a very factory-like appearance. In regards to trailer wiring, you can use the ZCI Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness part # 119250KIT which does not require any splicing so you won't have to make any permanent modifications to the vehicle. The ZCI Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness will then provide you with a standard four way trailer connector which is the most common.

If you need a seven way for a trailer with brakes we do have an option for this as well but keep in mind you will need a brake controller, the 7-Way RV Upgrade Kit for Trailer Brake Controller part # ETBC7L and Curt Echo Wireless Trailer Brake Controller part # C51180 are great options for this. Please note, we only carry US style trailer connectors so keep this in mind as Europe does use a different style of plug.

In regards to a transmission cooler, this is not required so long as you are towing within your weight capacity. I really wouldn't recommend one for this vehicle due to what it takes to install one but if you do decide this is the route you want to take then the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit part # D13503 would work.

Aside from the trailer hitch and trailer wiring there wouldn't be anything else needed save for a ball mount/hitch ball like the Ball Mount Kit part # 989900.
