Does Installing Tekonsha Powertrac on 2012 Ram 1500 Using Tekonsha Harness Require Dealer Visit
Question:
brake controller 39523 if installed in a 2012 ram with trailer tow package will this work out of the box because if i put in the factory ram oem one it will need programming from dealer

The Tekonsha Powertrac part # 39523 with the install harness part # 3021-P will easily install in your 2012 Ram 1500 and won't require you to take the truck to a dealer to reprogram it. You'll basically just plug in the controller under your dash using the adapter and you'd be set.
