Trailer Hitch and Bike Rack Recommendations for a 2012 Toyota Highlander
Question:
We have a 2012 Toyota Highlander Limited which includes an attached spoiler. We do not have a hitch on the car. Would the TH45jv work on our Highlander?

Trunk mounted bike racks cannot be used on the 2012 Toyota Highlander because they cannot be safely secured to the vehicle because the spoiler will interfere. In order to carry bikes, you would need a trailer hitch and hitch mount bike rack.
For a trailer hitch, I recommend Draw-Tite hitch # 75586. The 2 inch receiver will allow you more options for accessories like bike racks. For a 2 bike rack, our most popular rack is the Swagman XTC-2, # S64670. This is a platform style rack that is compatible with many different types of bikes.
