Will the SpeedLink Mounting Hardware Thule Work on my Thule Diaginal Ski Rack

Question:

Is this system compatible with my older Thule diagonal ski rack? I have a 2017 GMC Acadia with the GMC aerodynamic cross bars. Price is for one piece or all 4 needed?

I reached out to my contact at Thule to see if there is a solution available to attach the Replacement 13 mm SpeedLink Mounting Hardware Assembly for Thule SnowPack Ski and Snowboard Carrier part # 7521241001 and unfortunately they don't have another option available for the older style ski racks. There would be no way of attaching it to the base of your older carrier without customization which would be a safety issue because it would no longer be a manufacturer certified product.

As an alternative you can use Thule SnowPack Ski & Snowboard Carrier - 4 Skis or 2 Boards - part # TH7324 while this is a more costly option at over twice the cost this will offer great protection for your skis because they have done nice upgrades to the area that grips the skis and this one will be lockable so if you run in anywhere while your out and about they won't disappear.

As a more cost effective option I really like the Rhino-Rack Ski and Snowboard Carrier - Locking - 6 Skis or 4 Boards part # RR576. This one has a huge 6 ski capacity and offers similar protection for your skis both where they are held and with it being lockable. The clamps aren't quite as quick as the Thule version as they require you to tighten 4 bolts on each half but overall I really like this one and it's price point. In this case you will be only slightly more costly than adding the 4 Speedlinks to your current carrier and has good bonuses to it. Another thing I like about both of these is that in the off season they're great for transporting your fishing rods. I've linked a couple of videos for you on them to give you a great idea of what to expect.
