Higher Speed Rating Trailer Tire in Size 4.80-12
Question:
I just bought a used trailer. It has Load Star high speed 4.80x12 load range c tires. I will be using it to drive to and from the lake. Speed limit is 75 and I will rarely have more than 500lbs. It did not come with a spare, which I want to purchase. Should I upgrade the 2 tires to a better tire based on the potential speed? Or just get an equivalent tire as a spare? Thanks

75 miles per hour is a pretty high trailer tire speed rating, especially in the size you have of 4.80-12, but we do have the Taskmaster wheel and tire part # TT48012C which is rated for 81 mph, a radial, and has a higher weight capacity of 990 lbs at 90 psi, and Load Range C. This would be my recommendation for either just a spare or for a replacement for all the wheels on the trailer.
I attached a review video for you to check out as well for this tire.
