hitch for 2020 subaru impreza? I know my owners manaul says no towing but I want to use the hitch to tow my 300 lbs loaded kayak trailer its 5-door wagon one exhaust

I recommend the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 76209 to tow the small kayak trailer with the 2020 Subaru Impreza. This will give you a 2" receiver on the back of the Subaru and more than enough weight capacity to tow your lightweight trailer. I have attached an installation video for your reference.

You will also need a 4-way to illuminate the trailer lights on your trailer. For that, I recommend Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector part # 118744. The Tekonsha brand wiring has proven to be a bit more reliable compared to the other options especially the converter boxes.

Since you plan on doing some towing you may consider the etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop. It also includes a 1-7/8 inch ball, 2 inch ball, hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag. If you are not sure how much rise/drop you may need in a ball mount to tow your trailer level, I recommend to take a look at the helpful article I have attached about how to figure the amount of rise or drop you may need.
