How To Use 8 Lug Wheels With the Timbren 3.5K Heavy-Duty Axle-Less Trailer Suspension

Question:

Hey there! I’m looking to retrofit a trailer for off-road use. Currently, there is no brakes for the trailer so I’m interested in adding brakes as well. I want to run the same wheels on my truck as the trailer, 17x 9 wheel with 8 lugs and +12 offset. Is there an 8 lug hub with brakes that can fit the 3500 lb 4” offload Timbren suspension? Regards

Expert Reply:

The Timbren Heavy-Duty Axle-Less Trailer Suspension part # ASR35HDS02 will work with an 8 on 6-1/2" bolt pattern using the Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly part # 8-219-4UC3-EZ and Dexter Nev-R-Adjust Electric Trailer Brake Kit part # 23-458-459. The 15123 bearing that the Timbren Heavy-Duty Axle-Less Trailer Suspension uses has the same inner diameter as the 14125A bearing that the Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly has so they can be interchanged.
