Tire chains 1999 F350 SRW 285/75/16 Load Rated E Tires

Question:

Will all the chains listed for 285/75 16 tires work for load rated tires on my 1999 F350 single rear wheel 4X4? Looking at the PWH2228SC. Do I need to buy special chains for Load rated E tires? I dont plan on using them, but I am traveling to Yosemite and Yellowstone with a camper in late spring and want to have set just in case. I have cables for the trailer tires brake axle if needed. I already have a set of Cobra Jr. Light Truck 1675 that should fit the F350 but might not be heavy-duty enough. Inexperienced, from Alabama, only used a set of tire cables once on a front-wheel-drive Toyota echo during the snowpocalypse event in Birmingham, had to go to work firefighter took a car I did not care about, drove circles around everyone with the cables on. Taught me I would rather have them with me then not.

Your 1999 Ford F-350 tire information (285/75-16) is all you need to track down as the Tire Load Range isn't a determining factor. Most but not all of the 285/75R16 size tires are 10 ply, load range E tires. We often see S-rated chains for aftermarket, significantly larger tires on trucks and SUVs but Load Range E tires won't require special chains.

The Glacier Twist-Link Tire Chains, part # PWH2228SC are a solid choice to consider. The twisted chain design provides a sturdy grip between the tire and the snow/ice and they are easy to install to your vehicle. These are designed for highway use and not intended for off-road applications so that sounds right in line with your Yellowstone and Yosemite plans.
