The 2019 Honda Ridgeline is pre-wired to attach a 7-Way plug that powers trailer brakes but not all Honda Ridgelines have the wiring harness for a plug and play brake controller adapter. If you need a 7-way I recommend to use Tekonsha T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 7-Way Trailer Connector part # 118288 which will plug into a port behind the rear bumper. It also comes with the relays needed to activate the tow package on the Ridgeline so power the circuit needed on the 7-way needed to tow a trailer with brakes. I have attached a photo of what the plug looks like plugged in under the bumper.

Next you will need a brake controller, that goes back to what I said earlier about the plug and play adapter. Some of the 2019 Honda Ridgelines have a port that allows you to plug in brake controller adapter part # C51392 which is a confirmed fit for the Ridgeline and allows you to use a Curt brake controller like the Spectrum part # C51170 which is designed with a discreet knob so you won't need a bulky brake controller box. I recommend to call the dealership with your VIN to see if your Ridgeline was equipped with the plug and play adapter port for a brake controller.

If it was not equipped with the port, I recommend to use the Curt Echo part # C51180 that plugs in line with the 7-way and will not require any hard wiring since it only requires an active 12V circuit on the 7-Way plug to operate. Otherwise you would need to wire the brake controller to the stop light circuit of the vehicle. The Echo can conveniently be controlled with your smart phone Apple 8.0-newer or Android: 4.4-newer. I have attached a video for your reference.
