What Drawbar Length Should Be Used On 2019 Honda CR-V With Curt Trailer Hitch C13397
Question:
I have 2019 Honda CR-V AWD with the 2" Curt hitch which length of draw bar should I use to tow a small trailer to clear the bumper?

Expert Reply:
The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C13397 measured 2-1/2" from the center of the hitch pin hole to the outside of the bumper on the 2019 Honda CR-V so the length of the draw bar or ball mount is not going to be that big of a deal because the hitch is not recessed under the vehicle. As long as the ball mount is longer than 3" you won't have an issue. That measurement is the center of the hitch pin hole on the ball mount to the center of the of the ball hole. For example: Curt Ball Mount for 2" Hitches part # C45030 is 7-5/8" Long.
What is important is the rise or drop that you need to tow your particular trailer level with the CR-V. You want to be within 2" of level. I have attached a helpful article to explain how to measure for rise or drop when purchasing a ball mount. I have also attached the link to the ball mounts we have available.
If you need wiring, I recommend Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector part # 118741 which will plug in behind the tail lights of the CR-V without splicing. I have attached an installation video for your reference.
