Recommended Snow Tire Chains for 235/60-18 Tires on a 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLC 300

Question:

Jon, When I purchased the vehicle, I had to sign, that I will not put any snow chains on that vehicle, therefore only cables are acceptable. Thank you for your time and help.

The snow chains that I recommend for the 235/60-18 tires on your 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 are the XG12 Konig Self-Tensioning Snow Tire Chains # TH01594247 because they are easy-to-install, Class S chains with rim protection so that your new vehicle is protected from the chains while you still get the traction that you need. Konig is a premium tire chain brand and all of their products definitely reflect that.

I did look at the online version of the owner's manual for your vehicle and while it did say that chains can be used on the rear wheels, it also stated to double check with your nearest Mercedes-Benz dealer to ensure that your specific application is safe to use chains with.

If your dealer is a little apprehensive about the use of chains (because of potential damage to the vehicle) then it would be better to go with the K-Summit XXL Chains # TH02230K66 instead. This chain has a unique design in that it installs by attaching to a lug nut which eliminates the need for the chain to wrap around the back of the tire to secure it. This installation does take a little longer initially but once you know what you're doing it is an easier process and you don't have to worry about anything being damaged on your vehicle.

I have attached sample review videos of both tire chain options for you to check out.

Ah, I see. That does make a bit of a difference! In that case I recommend the Glacier V-Trac Cable Snow Tire Chains # PW1046 which are Class S compatible and come with rubber adjusters to help keep the cables taught and limit them making contact with your rims.
