Troubleshooting Ultimate Trailer Jack 322-RDJ-2K That Wont Slide Up or Down
Question:
I installed the jack, then went to pull it up, and it wont move. It is stuck with the center part that is supposed to lift up stuck in the lowest position. I have the handle pulled and resting in the position that should allow the jack to slide up and down, but it will not budge, All weight is off of it. Any ideas? I really dont want to take it off and start over.

To allow the post of the Ultimate Trailer Jack # 322-RDJ-2K to slide up and down, loosen the 3 mounting bolts used to attach to your A-Frame. Check to see if this allows the jack post to move. If it does, you'll want to tighten the bolts by hand first and double check for free movement of the post. Alternate tightening the 3 bolts so that the tension from a single one isn't pulling the jack in any one direction until you reach the 15-20 ft-lbs recommended on the installation instructions.
If the jack won't slide up or down after loosening the mounting bolts, try loosening the retainer bolt on the opposite side of the lever on the collar. You definitely want to make sure you follow the directions on step 4 of the instructions which states that the (black) plastic retainer needs to be removed to apply thread lock tape or locking compound to the threads of the retainer bolt then re-installed by lining up the raised V feature on the retainer with the V groove on the post. This will allow the jack post to move freely.
