Are Right Handed Lug Nuts More Likely To Loosen When Installed On the Left Hand Side Of a Trailer
Question:
Isn’t it true that with right hand threads lug nuts are more likely to come completely off on the left side of a trailer if they are already loose?

I think what you are asking is if right hand threaded lug nuts have a greatly likelihood of coming loose when installed on the left hand side of the trailer in comparison to when they are installed on the right hand side of the trailer due to the direction the wheel is rotating. If that is the case then this was a concern at one time but more accurate testing has confirmed that it makes no difference as to what way the lug nut threads on in relation to the rotation of the wheel.
If you are having issues with your lug nuts loosening then you may have a damaged lug stud/nut. Also, it is good practice to check the torque value before each trip.
