Is Engine Oil of 230 Degrees Too Hot for Truck

Question:

Will this oil cooler work for a 2015 ram Cummings? With all the emissions stuff on the truck the oil runs around 230. Looking for some kind of external oil cooler. The truck is equipped with an internal cooler.

Actually your engine oil temperature isn't bad at all. Ideally when a vehicle is warmed up the engine oil is between 230 and 260 degrees which yours being 230 is perfectly fine.

Since engines are kept cool with coolant that does not directly cool the oil the engine oil can get warmer than the coolant. But since oil actually likes to be warmer this is perfectly fine! Also the thread sizes of the # D15505 you referenced are not compatible.
