Surge Brake Actuator Recommendation for Replaced Atwood Drum to Convert to Disc
Question:
Thanks Jameson. Ive got a painted trailer and the actuator is welded on. Do this come in a paintable finish? Ill check on my axle capacity/bolt pattern. I have a swing away tongue on my Zieman trailer. Should I need anything else?

Demco surge couplers like the part # DM72VR you mentioned are really great overall. We've found that they are very reliable and do a great job applying the trailer brakes. Way better than the now discontinued Atwood actuator you have that was known for problems. This part number is for drum so for a disc version you'd want the # DM62VR and you'd be set. This comes with an electric reverse lockout as well.
Now I don't know your axle capacity or wheel bolt pattern so I am not able to give you a specific recommendation for a disc brake kit but if you wanted to get back to me with that info I can help you further. In meantime I attached a link to a page that has all info needed to convert a trailer to disc brakes as well.
