Will My ST215/75R-14 Tires work with Aluminum Jaguar Trailer Wheel # LHSJ211G

Question:

Im looking for a set of 4 wheels for my boat trailer. I found the style I like - Code LHSJ211G. My current wheels are 14 with 5 on 4-1/2. The concern I have is that my current wheels appear to be wider than the ones you sale. Its a little hard to measure, but as close as I can tell, my current rims are 6.75in wide yours are 5-1/2. My tire size is ST21575R14 Will the tires I have fit on the rims Im consider without looking funny. Thanks

A ST215/75-15 tire fits best on wheels that are between 5-1/2 and 7 inches wide, with 6 inches being ideal.

The # LHSJ211G wheels will indeed accept your tires, but the beads of the tires will be pulled in closer together than they are with your existing wheels. Whether or not they look funny is a pretty subjective concept that is dependent on personal preference, so I could not comment on that. They will fit, and they will work.

Having the tire beads closer together can possibly cause uneven wear on the center of the tire tread, as would be experienced if the tire was over inflated, but this is a remote possibility since that wheel width is within spec for that tire.

A better tire size would be 205/75-14, like part # AM10234.
