To tow the Smart ForTwo, you will need base plate kit # 52285-1. This will require a rather lengthy installation which requires removing the front fascia from the car. Also, a helper would be needed. It requires trimming of the fascia on some models. With this EZ2 kit, you will be able to remove the base plates when not towing so the brackets will be hardly noticeable.

After you install this kit you will also need a tow bar to attach the towed vehicle to your pulling vehicle. If you are pulling from a hitch ball you can use # RM-020 to pull from a 2 inch hitch ball. This setup will require a set of quick disconnects # RM-201. If you are pulling from a vehicle with a receiver you can use # RM-522 which is more expensive, but has some great features. The TowReady Tow Bar, # 63180, that you referenced is only designed for towing up to speeds of 45 miles per hour, so I would recommend this tow bar for occasional towing only.

You will then need a wiring kit to control the vehicles lights while in tow. You can use the #38955 tail light isolating kit which will wire to the vehicles tail lights. You may need a converter # 118158 if your vehicle has separate turn and brake lights. Or, you can use the light kit with bulbs # RM-155 which will use a separate bulb in the tail light housing and will not cause a problem with factory warranty. However, it will require room in the taillight for the bulb to be mounted.

Next you will need a set of safety cables. You can use # RM-645 which are strong, light and easy to use. Finally you may want some accessories to protect the towed vehicle from road debris kicked up by the towing vehicle and to help stop the vehicles. I have provided links to all of the recommendations above, and some informational articles you may find helpful.
