Roof Rack Recommendation for 2014 Mazda CX-5 to Carry Thule Roof Box
Question:
Hi, I would like to know if you recommend the Thule wingbar edge fixed point on a CX-5 2014 for a rooftop cargo carrier. I’m a bit unsure about the fit on the rear side. Wondering to know if Thule typical cargo could interfere with the trunk opening? Thank you in advance for your help! Sincerly,

Yes, for your 2014 Mazda CX-5 we do recommend the Thule Wingbar Evo roof rack part numbers # TH711420, # TH710501, and # TH145110 that you referenced. This is the nicest roof rack option available for your vehicle so you'll like it a lot. It's very easy to install, will last a very long time due to it being made and designed well, and gives you the most aerodynamic crossbars so you'll have minimal wind noise.
What's also great about this rack is that Thule states that's it's perfectly compatible with all of their roof boxes like the Thule Pulse # TH615. To determine if this will have clearance for the hatch to open measure from the front fixed mounting point center back to the seam where the hatch opens. If that measures more than 46-3/8 inches this box will fit and allow the hatch to open fully. When we installed this on a similar 2015 CX-5 we found that it fit and allowed the hatch to easily open.
