What Causes a Trailer Roof Vent Lid Not To Close All Of the Way

Question:

Hi, I had to replace my roof vent cover and it’s not closing. It has the continuous rolled hinge and rounded dome. The rolled hinge doesn’t seem to be large enough to allow for the dome to go all the way down. They look alike but it’s not fitting. I have a 2007 keystone raptor Toyhauler. Any ideas on why the dome with same type of hinge won’t fit? Do your continuous hinge vent covers come in different sizes? Thank you.

Expert Reply:

The roof vent lids we offer are all the same standard size which is 14" x 14". If you are having issues with the lid closing all of the way then this could be a bent arm or the operator mechanism (if equipped) is malfunctioning. That said, it would be hard to diagnose this without physically inspecting the unit. The two options we have for you that match the description that you provided are part # BV0554-03 and part # BV0554-01. If you can provide me with the model number on your vent I would be happy to confirm the correct replacement roof vent lid or arm for you.
