You're going to need to add a trailer hitch and a wiring harness to the 2013 Ford Escape to tow that trailer. Of the available hitches I like the etrailer.com hitch, part # E98866, because of the concealed crosstube and matte black finish. Both make the hitch less obvious. Then the Tekonsha wiring harness, part # 118566, has the highest amp draw rating and also a higher quality converter so you shouldn't have to worry about it going bad. I've linked install videos for both items.
In addition to the hitch and wiring you need a ball mount too. Take a look at our ball mount kit, part # 989900, that includes a couple different options of ball mounts and hitch balls to determine what you need.
I've linked you to an article explaining how to choose a ball mount as well as some other general towing articles. I also did a little research to find your Escape can tow up to 2,000 pounds. I recommend verifying this with your owner's manual just to be sure.
