Sounds like you are really interested in the easiest to install brake controller option for your 2012 Toyota Tundra. Which for that the Curt Echo part # C51180 beats the other options you mentioned.

So the easiest to install brake controller that also works really well is the Curt Echo Mobile part # C51180 that I mentioned. Basically this just plugs into an active 7-way and once you sync it to your phone it's ready to go. This brake controller is proportional which means it senses the amount of deceleration your tow vehicle is applying and applies the trailer brakes in a relative way.

To install any of the other controllers just requires the install connector part # 3040-P which plugs into the rear of the controller and then into the port under the dash. The P3 part # 90195 is best option of the three. It has the most advanced inertia sensor and has a display that shows full words and allows you to save presets. The P2 part # 90885 is functionally the same as the P3 but the display is more primitive and you have to decipher 2 digit codes. The Primus IQ part # TK90160 is the previous generation of the Prodigy controllers which still works great but it's inertia sensor is dated.
