Comparing the Kuat Transfer 2 and RockyMounts MonoRail 2 Bike Racks
Question:
I am looking at these 2 hitch racks to carry predominantly road bikes, as they will not contact the carbon frame. Any recommendations on one over the other? It seems as though RockyMountain has a way to lock the rack to the hitch while also coming with a lighter chain lock for the bike.

I am personally a big fan of the Kuat Transfer V2 Bike Platform Rack part # KU74FR for a few reasons. The first being that the center portion is open so you can walk right up inside of the rack and place your bikes in the cradles whereas for the RockyMounts MonoRail 2 Bike Platform Rack part # RKY10003 you will have to stop at some point and lift the bike up and over the center section. The other reason I prefer the Kuat Transfer 2 is because it just has a more aesthetically pleasing look with the rounded edges and matte black finish.
That said, I am sure you will be happy with either option. The MonoRail will allow for a bit heavier bike to be carried up to 60 lbs and it comes with locks.
