Travel Trailer Tire Size Recommendation for ST205/75-14
Question:
Can I replace my ST 205 75R 14 with 205 75R 14

Expert Reply:
The ST in front of the first tire size you mentioned is very important for trailer applications. This indicates that the tire was designed for trailer use. If the tire size you are considering does not include this then you should not use this tire as it won't be rated properly due to it not being designed to handle vertical weight trailers see. Most likely it was intended for a passenger vehicle application instead.
For a tire in this size I recommend the Westlake part # 274-000012 because it has a higher speed rating of 81 mph, comes with a great roadside assistance program, and has an advanced tread design that allows it to provide great traction in wet and dry conditions.
