Is There a Shorter Shank Option for Curt Fixed Ball Mount with 2 Inch Drop
Question:
1. What is the thickness of the ball mounting flange? That is, how thick is the piece through which the ball shank s? Im trying to calculate whether my ball shank is long enough, or whether I need to buy a new one. 2. Does this mount come without the ball? 3. Is there a shorter one less than 7.5 with the same drop and rise? Thanks!

The Curt Class III Ball Mount with 2" Ball - 2" Drop - 7,500 lbs # C45036 does come with the hitch ball installed. The ball platform is 3/4 inches thick which is standard with a 1 inch diameter hole. This is the shortest option for that rise and drop. There is a lower rated option in # C45131 but it is only due to the smaller hitch ball that is 1-7/8 inch diameter. It still uses the same ball mount and just changes the hitch ball.
There are longer options that are similar but nothing shorter. The most similar option without a ball is the Curt Ball Mount for 2" Hitches - 1" Rise, 2-1/4" Drop - 7-5/8" Long - 7,500 lbs # C45030 which has a slight drop increase to 2-1/4 and 1 inch rise when inverted. The length is 7-5/8 inches.
