Trailer Wiring Harness for a 2010 Lexus RX 350 without Factory Tow Package
Question:
How do I tell which wiring package I need on my 2010 Lexus RX350. I did not order the tow package but my car has a plug in the location shown on the Curt 56083 instructions. Also is there a bracket available to mount the 4 pin plug externally

If you did not order the tow package for your 2010 Lexus RX 350, then you will need to use wiring harness # 118478. The connection point for the tow package harness may be present but there are other components and wiring that needs to be done to make it fully functional from the factory.
You can always have a dealership run the VIN of the vehicle to determine what options it has.
I have included a link to the installation details for the 118478 wiring harness for you to view. I have also included a link to an FAQ article with tips on installing the power wire for the wiring harness.
