Best Way to Reduce Sway & Body Roll on 2019 Winnebago Intent 29L on Ford F-53 Chassis
Question:
2019 Winnebago Intent 29L Body Roll with side winds & semis passing. I just purchased this MH, the biggest issue Ive had is body roll and sway/darting, when meeting semis and in with side winds/gust. What the best way, for the money to lessen this issue...rear stabilizer system? The front end has a heavy anti-sway bar, which came stock, but Im not sure how it would compare to the stabilizers you sell. This MH has a full length slide on only the driver's side, and it leans somewhat. Without spending a ton of $$ what would you suggest, air bags (so I can put more air in the sagging side), or will the sumo springs take care of this thanks,

You are certainly not alone in looking for a way to reduce the amount of sway and body roll when driving a motor home but there are great solutions to remedy those white-knuckle moments when going side-by-side with a semi or meeting crosswinds.
The best way to reduce the sway and enhance the ride of your 2019 Winnebago Intent 29L built on a Ford F-53 chassis is to add a rear anti-sway bar, followed by a front anti-sway bar, and after that a steering stabilizer. For your motor home the correct parts are:
- Roadmaster Rear Anti-Sway Bar # RM-1139-146
- Roadmaster Front Anti-Sway Bar # RM-1139-148
- Roadmaster Exact Center Steering Stabilizer # RM33RR
An aftermarket rear anti-sway bar is a big improvement over the OEM sway bars and their placement at the rear of the vehicle allows for maximum efficiency in regards to how your Winnebago handles. After that you can further improve the ride by adding a front anti-sway bar, which is going to replace the lesser-quality OEM sway bar; and the steering stabilizer.
The combination of these three parts will dramatically increase the handling and comfort of your motor home, allowing you to enjoy your time on the road instead of exhaustively attempting to keep your rig centered at all times. If you do not want to add all three parts at once you can do so one at a time if you'd like, but the addition of all three truly is the best way for you to counteract the sway and body roll you have to deal with now.
In regards to your Winnebago leaning to one side the best option is going to be the SumoSprings Maxim Custom Helper Springs # SSR-184-40-1 which will compress independently and support the side that leans a bit. Air bags on a motor home would be difficult to maintain and the length of the air lines would make them far more vulnerable to damage than air bags on a pick up truck, for example.
