Troubleshooting No Power on 12 Volt Accessory Circuit of 7-Way 2012 Dodge Ram 2500
Question:
Hi there, We are installing the 7 way extension in the the bed of our 2012 Dodge Ram 2500, to bring power in to our pop up camper. However we are only reading power to the brown wire and that was after we installed a fuse. Is there another fuse that needs to be installed that we don’t know about? Other trouble shooting ideas? Why aren’t we getting power to the black wire that should bring the 12v power into the camper? Thanks for your help.

The 12 volt accessory circuit isn't always active on vehicle 7-ways we've found. Not every towing setup requires this circuit so sometimes it's just left inactive. The easiest way to activate it though is to use a length of 10 gauge wire like part # 10-1-1 (sold by foot) through a breaker like part # 9510 to the positive post of your truck battery and it will be active.
