Can Tire Chains be Used on a 2011 BMW X3 with 235/50R18 Tires
Question:
BMW parts department claims there are no chains for this car. What do you recommend? I have 235/50R18.

The first thing you will want to do is consult the vehicle owners manual for your 2011 BMW X3. It may not be that chains will not fit, but you may find by looking in the manual that chains are prohibited from BMW and this may be what the parts department means.
If you do find that your owners manual states you can use chains, you can use the Thule CG9 chains that you have referenced, # TH2004205104. The chains tension themselves and align as you drive for easy installation. They also only require 9mm of clearance around the tire.
I have included a link to our FAQ article on tire chains, and an FAQ article on Thule chains.
