Recommended 5th Wheel Hitch for 2019 Chevy Silverado 2500 Short Bed and 2016 Heartland Oakmont 325e

2019 Silverado 2500hd with 6 1/2 foot bed to pull a 2016 Heartland Oakmont 325E. I’m now second guessing my purchase. Should I have ordered a sliding hitch?

For your 2019 Silverado 2500 HD with 6.5 foot bed, a fixed hitch like the reese M5 # RP30928. This is great if you want to use a Sidewinder pin box like # RP34FR or air ride Sidewinder # RP61422 (you would also need wedge # RP44FR). I can't confirm that the tapered front of your trailer would allow for turning clearances with a fixed mounted hitch without this and would hate to have your new truck and trailer damaged.
If you don't want to add that style pin box to give you the turning clearance, then I definitely recommend using a sliding hitch. The Curt A20 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ R20 Slider # C16541 along with adapter # C16023 is the closest option to the hitch you chose and will suite your trailer and truck combination well.
If you want a hitch that will automatically slide to give you turning clearance, then I recommend the Demco Hijacker Autoslide 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider # DM8550034 and adapter # DM6194. The Sidewinder and fixed hitch or this automatic sliding hitch will be the most user friendly options allowing you to stay in your cab and not need to adjust the slider manually.
