Replacement Hitch Pin Lock Assembly for Thule Bike Rack

Question:

My Thule bike carrier has the “bolt” type pin that goes through the hitch hole and screws into the Thule carrier. I have managed to lose the entire lock that covers the “bolt” end so it can’t be unscrewed. Is this the correct replacement lock part, and does it have a lock and key that goes with it? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Kind Regards,

If you have a much older bike rack yes, the part # 853-5018-03 is the correct replacement lock core, but the current style used now is the part # 753-3725-02 which you'll notice is much smaller. If you need the lock housing and the key/lock core it would make more sense to order the part # THSTL2.

If you can let me know which bike rack you specifically have I can let you know for sure which lock housing you'd need as a replacement.

That said, since you said the fact you are missing this piece is preventing you from unscrewing the hitch bolt might mean you have something different going on as basically if one of these is removed the hitch pin should remove pretty easily. If you can let me know specifically what bike rack you have I can check out exactly how your lock assembly should work.
