Best Brake Controller for a 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali
Question:
Hi I have a 2015 GMC Denali and want to add an electric Brake controller. The truck does not have the factory controller , But there is a wiring harness plug behind the dash area where it should be. The truck is a 5.3 V-8 auto transmission with tow/haul button. The trailer I wish to pull is a Basic dual axle car hauler with electric Brakes 9000 GVW What components including part #s do I need to order to basically have a Plug-n-Play set up??? Prefer the Prodigy type

The brake controller I recommend for your 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali is the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller part # 90195. It sounds like you're already aware but the Prodigy P3 is one of the best brake controllers on the market. It has integrated safeguards to protect the vehicle/trailer in the event of a short and it has built-in checks to make sure everything is functioning properly. There are adjustable boost settings to increase braking power as well as storable settings for up to five different trailers.
In order to install the Prodigy P3 on your Sierra 1500 all you will need to use is the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers part # 3016. If you take a look at the attach video you will see the location of the plug.
