Trailer Running Lights Not Working on 2017 Ram 3500

Question:

my name is tom and i have a 2017 ram diesel 3500, my pin in the 7 way plug on the truck side for the running lights wont light up with a tester. changed both fuses and still nothing. am i missing something between the fuse box and the plug? can i test the fuses? the right and left blinker pins light up, the positive pin lights up, the brake controller pin lights up when actuated both pins on the blinker light up when depressing the brake pedal so i am guessing they are part of the blinker/brake wiring. short of chasing a broken wire from the fuse box backwards am i on the right track? tell me its something simple that i am missing

I apologize if any of this is redundant but let's first start off by making sure we are testing the correct pin. The correct pin on the vehicle side 7-way trailer connector for the running lights should be in the 11 o'clock position. The wire that leads into this pin should be brown but it can be a different color. I know you said you have checked the fuse already but again just to clarify you should be looking at the F29 terminal for a blue 20 amp fuse. The fuse may not look bad but it is hard to see the break sometimes so make sure to replace it just in case. Aside from these two things I don't see any other reason as to why the trailer running light pin would not be active save for a break in the circuit or an issue with the body control module not sending the correct signal from the power distribution center. If that is the case then the truck would need to be sent to the dealer for repairs.
