The hitch options for the 2017 Hyundai Ioniq are Class I, 1-1/4" inch hitches. There is not a 2 inch receiver available because the Ioniq is not designed to handle the weight capacity of a 2 inch receiver. I recommend Draw-Tite hitch part # 24963 because Draw-Tite hitches do not require the use of a stabilization strap when using a bike rack.

If you have a bike rack or cargo carrier with a 2 inch shank it is possible to use a 1- 1/4 inch to 2 inch hitch adapter. A hitch adapter we carry that will fit into a Class I hitch is Brophy hitch adapter part # HTAD. Please keep in mind the adapter will cut the tongue weight capacity of the hitch in half. The use of an adapter on the Draw-Tite trailer hitch part # 24963 will cut the tongue weight capacity down to 100 lbs. If the weight of the bike rack itself and the bikes are less than 100 lbs you will be able to use the Brophy adapter with this hitch. This will be the same with a cargo carrier and the cargo you put inside of the cargo carrier.

The best option is to get a bike rack or cargo carrier that is designed for a Class I hitch. I recommend The Swagman Trailhead 2 bike rack part # S63360 because it features a 3 inch rise shank to help with ground clearance. It also has 11 inches from the hitch pin hole to the back of the upright bar so it will clear the bumper on the Ioniq. I recommend protecting your investment with an Anti-rattle Hitch Lock and Cable for Swagman bike racks part # S64031.

The cargo carrier I recommend to fit the Class I hitch is Curt cargo carrier part # C18145 because it comes with an anti-wobble hitch bolt that eliminates rattle and movement when the carrier is in the hitch receiver. It is also a lighter weight option compared to the other cargo carriers we offer.
