When do the handles on the sterling tow bar lock down?

Expert Reply:
The handles, or Freedom Latch, of the Roadmaster Sterling All-Terrain Tow Bar # RM-576 lock down as you are driving away after connecting the tow bar. As you can see by the accompanying cut out of the instructions the Sterling's arms will extend, self-center and lock when you do this.
To unlock them when you want to disconnect, just lift the latches and this will unlock the tow bar's arms.
