Recommended Tire Chains for 245/70-19.5 Tires on a 2012 Ford F-250

Question:

I am looking to purchase tire chains for my 2012 F-250 4X4 which had 20 inch wheels changed to 245/70/19.5 inch for load cap. Ford doesnt recommend chains with the factory 20 inch but these are shorter and much narrower with the 19.5 installed. Which chains do you recommend? Regards

The tire chains that I recommend using for the 245/70-19.5 tires on your 2012 Ford F-250 are the Titan Chain Snow Tire Chains with Cams # TC2228CAM because they are fairly easy to install and feature twist links for great traction.

Since clearance is likely the issue and why Ford doesn't recommend using them with the larger wheels you may consider using cables instead as they tend to have a lower clearance. For this I recommend the Titan Cable Snow Tire Chains # TC2028 with ladder pattern.

It may be worth contacting your local Ford dealer to make sure that nothing will be damaged on your pickup when using chains with your smaller tires.
