Solution for Gaining Clearance Between Tailgate and Trailer Jack
Question:
Can you please tell me the distance from the front of this coupler to the mounting hole for the jack? Do you have any others in a similar capacity 12.5k - 15k that have a greater distance from the ball to the jack? Im looking to be able to open my tailgate and clear the jack and increase the overall length of my existing coupler which is 14inch long overall.

I went out to our warehouse to measure the Bulldog Heavy-Duty Cast Head Coupler # BD44150W0317 that you referenced and found a distance of right at 15-1/4 inches from the front of the coupler to the center of the jack mounting hole.
The other available couplers in the capacity range you are needing will have pretty similar measurements. If this is not enough length to give you the needed tailgate clearance then your best option is to go with a longer ball mount for your truck.
We do have a nice selection of ball mounts available that feature a longer shank to push the coupler further away from the truck, such as with the Brophy Ball Mount # BM20 that measures 13-1/4 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of the ball hole.
I have attached a couple links that will take you directly to our selection of similar ball mounts that you can look through as well.
