For your 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo with 3.6L V6 4x2, the towing capacity is 3,500 lbs according to the manufacturer. If you don't already have the hitch, wiring, and ball mount for towing, I recommend the following:
For your trailer hitch receiver I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Class III - 2" # C13182 which is the best for towing and the easiest installation. It also is made in the USA.
Then for your trailer wiring, I recommend the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118727. This harness will connect to your factory wiring behind your tail lights and then draw power from your vehicle battery directly. Then if you need the 7-way and trailer brake controller, I recommend the # ETBC7L and the Curt Echo Mobile Trailer Brake Controller - Wireless # C51180. The Echo is a proportional controller that doesn't need any wiring into the cabin area of your vehicle so it will give you excellent function without having a physical box on your dash.
Finally for your ball mount, I recommend the B&W Tow & Stow 3-Ball Mount - 2" Hitch - 3" Drop, 3-1/2" Rise - 10K - Black # BWTS10047B. This ball mount comes with a rise or drop, all 3 standard hitch ball options and the patented storage ability behind the shank for a clean look. I also recommend a lock like # e98880 to secure your investment.
If you prefer a fixed ball mount, I recommend the ball mount kit # 989899 which gives you two ball mounts, two hitch balls, a storage bag and the pin and clips. This will allow you to determine the best fit for level towing. I've attached an article to assist.
