Tire Chains for a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee with 265/50-20 Tires
Question:
I have a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee limited. With tires - 265/50R/20. Everything I keep reading online and here says that the car is not compatible with chains/traction devices yet the owners manual specifically suggests Thule XG-12 pro on the rear wheels only for my tire size. Naturally I am confused. I am in an area where I must have a traction device available in my car both legally and for safety. Is it ok to put the above mentioned traction device on my car at my tire size and if not what is compatible with my car? Also, it seems like Konig makes the exact same product and pops up when I search for the Thule product, are they the same? Thanks for any help!

The Konig Self-Tensioning Snow Tire Chains part # TH01594267 are absolutely correct for your 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee with 265/50-20 tires and are the only ones you can use according to the owner's manual. The Konig tire chains were previously until just last year distributed under the Thule brand but have since been dropped and are now distributed under the Konig brand. They are the exact same tire chain and the one your owner's manual is referring to.
There are certainly situations in which tire chains can and cannot be used on a vehicle but we must always defer to what the owner's manual recommends for that particular vehicle. I have attached a sample install video for you as well.
