Is the CE Smith U-Bolt Kit 23002 2-3/8 Inches Wide or 2-7/16 Inches Wide
Question:
Can you please clarify the dimensions of part number CE23002? The description says the ID is 2-3/8 and the thread diameter is 3/8, but then under the All Info section it says the ID is 2-7/16 and the threads are 1/2 inch.. I am having trouble finding a long u-bolt with a center-to-center distance of 2-3/4, and a 2-3/8 ID U-bolt with 3/8 thread would accomplish this. I would greatly appreciate if you could clarify any or all of these dimensions for CE23002. Additionally, if there is a way to buy u-bolts only without the plates, this would be very useful for me. If the dimensions are correct, my company will very likely be placing a fairly large order of these u-bolts. Thank you for your time.

The 2-3/8" measurement you are referring to on the CE Smith U-Bolt Kit part # CE23002 is in regards to the diameter of trailer axle that the kit is designed to be used with. The actual width of the u-bolt from the inside edge of each bolt is 2-7/16" and the diameter is 1/2". We do not have a u-bolt with a 2-3/8" width and a 3/8" diameter. However, as mentioned above if this is for a 2-3/8" (3,500 lb) trailer axle then you will want to use one that is slightly larger than the width of the axle, 2-7/16". The above kit is not offered with the u-bolt only.
