Which Tires Should Chains be Installed on with AWD 2017 Infiniti QX50
Question:
Your video indicates that if I have AWD - which I do in my 2017 Infiniti QX50 - the chains should be put on the “steering side.” Can you please tell me what that means? I’ve only seen chains on either the 2 front wheels or the 2 back wheels and assume these would go on the front? Thank you!

I took a look at the online version of the owner's manual for your 2017 Infiniti QX50. Under the "Tire Chains" section it actually states that snow chains should only be used on the rear tires and not on the front tires for your vehicle. The vehicle's owner's manual is always the best place to check when determining which tires chains can be used on as it will vary from vehicle to vehicle, regardless of its drivetrain.
Within the Tire Chain section of your manual it also says to only use SAE Class S chains, which are required for vehicles like yours that have limited wheel well clearance. The good news is that the Konig Self-Tensioning Snow Tire Chains # TH04115245 that you were looking at meet this requirement and will work perfectly if you have 245/45-19 size tires on your QX50.
As you may have already seen from watching the video that you mentioned, these particular chains feature a unique tensioning system that uses a convenient, built-in pedal to activate the center tensioning element. This allows for a really easy and secure installation. Two chains are included so this will be all you need!
