Converting a Trailer with 7-Way to Vehicle with 4-Way
Question:
Is there an adapter to plug into a four pin flat connecter for use with a seven pin round connector on trailer no brakes on trailer

Expert Reply:
If the vehicle has a 7-way trailer connector and the trailer has a 4-way trailer connector then you can use the Pollak 7 Pole to 4 Way Connector Adapter part # PK12716 to attach them to one another. However, if the vehicle has a 4-way trailer connector and the trailer has a 7-way trailer connector then you can either use an adapter like the Mighty Cord Trailer Connector Adapter part # A10-7084VP or you can just cut off the 7-way on the trailer and install the Hopkins Endurance Quick-Fix Replacement 4-Way Flat Trailer Connector part # HM48192.
I recommend just replacing the trailer side trailer connector as the latter 7-way adapter will require you to attach a ground wire and mount the trailer connector with part # C57202 and part # PK12711U.
