Can LED Trailer Tail Lights # BUL28CLPB and # UCL59CB be Ran Off of 12 Volt Accessory Circuit
Question:
I would like to add some aux lights to my flatbed car trailer to make loading at night easier. Can I use the 12v blade from the 7way adapter to power them? I am looking at adding 2 BUL28CLPB style lights to the center of the deck aimed up to light the under body of the vehicle for tie down positioning, 6 UCL59CB style lights underneath for path lighting/stake pocket lighting around the trailer, and 1 pair of MT70882 style lights at the front for loading lights. My ideal setup would be to run one wire from the 7 way distribution box to a fuse distribution block, then run each category of light of individual controlled switches. Would it be able to handle it or do I need to add an aux battery? Thanks.

Expert Reply:
The amperage draw of each of the lights you mentioned is so low that running several of them would be no problem at all for the 12 volt power circuit of your trailer wiring. The # UCL59CB only draws .22 amps and the # BUL28CLPB only draws 0.054 amps. Most 12 volt accessory circuits are 40 amp so you'd easily be fine.
