I have a solution for the front of your 2007 Tacoma to hold your kayak. Checkout the Thule Cargo Tie Downs, part # TH529, which screw underneath the hood of your truck.
If you do not already have a tie down system for your kayak, you will want to use the Thule Quick Draw Ratchet-Rope Tie Down, part # TH855XT.
