Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch and Swagman Bike Rack Compatibility with 2010 Toyota Prius
Question:
Hi, can you tell me what the difference is between the draw tite #24967 and #24847? Im looking for a trailer hitch for my 2010 Prius, to attach a bike carrier not for pulling a trailer. I think I need #24847, and have questions about that one: How far does the opening stick out past the bumper? Is that 1? How much below the bumper does it hang? Is it lower than the exhaust? the instructions only mention top to ground is 13, but that doesnt help me determine if I have enough clearance to get up/down from the street into my driveway. And final questions regarding the #S64650 Swagman XC 2-bike rack I was planning to get: is this one compatible with the #24847 hitch, and how much does the bike rack weigh?

The Draw-Tite # 24847 will sit below the bumper of your 2010 Toyota Prius, where the Draw-Tite # 24967 will have a hidden crosstube. I've attached a photo for comparison. They are equally easy to install and have the same capacity ratings.
The 13 inch measurement from the ground to the top inside of the receiver you mentioned means you will have about 11-1/2 inches of clearance from the bottom of the chain loops to the ground. You are correct that the receiver will stick out about 1 inch from the bumper as the hitch pin hole. You can see in the video attached that the bottom of the muffler is in line with the receiver, so it won't be higher or lower than your exhaust system.
The Swagman XC 2-Bike Rack # S64650 is compatible with either hitch and weighs around 27 lbs. I recommend adding the Anti-Rattle Hitch Lock and Cable for Swagman Bike Racks # S64031 to secure your rack and bikes for that added peace of mind.
