What is the Best Quality Trailer Hitch Receiver for a 2017 Subaru Outback Wagon
Question:
I see that one review stated that there was a problem with the Draw-tite hitch they purchased and it had to be replaced. I would guess not all purchasers give review so my question is, What is quality return rate between the EcoHitch and Draw-Tite 7266 hitch ? I would hate to have my vehicle torn apart and discover the hitch has a flaw and has to be returned like one of your reviews. I have a subaru 2017 outback and are looking to purchase the DrawTite hitch. Also would like to verify if wire harness 118467 is the correct best fit for my vehicle. Love the web site. Easy, informative and the question and answer section is one of the best. Thanks

I wish I had exact figures I could provide you with but this information is not easily accessible. Unfortunately, the returns due to fitment are mostly related to shipping. The boxes can become damaged depending on how they are treated upon arrival to the customer so there are many variables at play, ones that could not be accurately predicted. If the trailer hitch does arrive and it does not quiet line up, most of the time a slight bend is all that is required so you won't be stuck waiting weeks while your vehicle is torn apart.
The EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 306-X7601 has extra gussets which will provide more support therefore minimizing the chances of anything becoming misaligned while shipping. The instance of a hitch having to be returned due to a slight bend is very rare and should not be of a concern as previously stated, a slight bend will get them back within spec.
As long as you do not have the Sport edition, the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness part # 118467 is correct for your 2017 Subaru Outback Wagon and it will not require any cutting or splicing. I have attached an install video of the trailer hitch and wiring harness for you as well.
