What Type of Sawzall Blade Should be Used to Cut Tongue on Steel Trailer for Fold-Away Kit

Question:

I am doing a project where I am cutting my steel trailer so I can install the FULTON Trailer Hinge Coupler. What type of Sawzall blade do you recommend for easily cutting thru the existing stell trailer? Also do you have any tips on assuring my cut is straight? JJFYI ...I have a Shorelander Steel Trailer with a 16 foot aluminum boat on the trailer. Is there a preferred saw Sawzall? and blade? Thanks

I would try using a carbide blade with your Sawzall for cutting your steel trailer tongue. If you don't already have one then you should be able to acquire one at your local home improvement store.

To ensure your cut is straight you will want to use a square and mark the top of your tongue as well as the sides. This is highlighted in the linked installation instructions for the Fulton Fold-Away Coupler Hinge Kit # FHDPB330301 that you referenced.
