In order to tow a trailer with your 2018 Honda Pilot you will need a trailer hitch, wiring harness, and a ball mount.
Starting with the trailer hitch I recommend the etrailer Class III Receiver Hitch # e98840. This Class III hitch is confirmed to fit your Honda Pilot and will use existing holes in its frame for a no-drill installation. It will provide you with a 2-inch receiver opening and it has a towing weight capacity of 6,000 pounds. You will also need to verify the towing capacity of your Pilot by checking your copy of the owner's manual. Whichever limit is lower, the hitch's or the vehicle's, is the capacity you need to stay under.
I have attached an installation video on the 2018 model Honda Pilot that you can use for reference.
Then for a wiring harness the Tekonsha T-One # 118760 will work perfectly. This is a custom harness that will install by plugging into a factory port behind the driver side trim panel. It will provide you with a 4-Way connector to connect with and power the trailer's basic signal lights. I have included the written installation instructions that you can check out.
Lastly you will need a ball mount and hitch ball to pull the trailer. I have attached a great article that explains how to choose the best one for your setup along with a link that will take you to our available selection. I have also included a couple articles on trailer towing that you might find helpful.
