Parts Needed to Tow a Trailer with a 2018 Dodge Grand Caravan

To tow a trailer you need a hitch receiver, ball mount, and hitch ball to hook up the trailer, as well as a wiring harness to power the trailer's lights.
Hitch receivers are custom fit to vehicles. For your 2018 Dodge Caravan I recommend the etrailer.com hitch, part # E98854. It bolts right onto the van and all the hardware you need is included. It's a 2 inch receiver which has a higher capacity than the smaller 1-1/4 inch receivers. To go along with it I recommend our ball mount kit, part # 989900. It includes a couple different ball mounts and hitch balls to allow you to tow a few different trailers. To know for sure if the kit works for you I've attached an article about ball mounts. Use this to find out the proper rise or drop you need, then I've also linked our selection of ball mounts that fit the hitch receiver in case the kit doesn't work for you.
Since you said the trailer is small I assume it has a 4-way connector. If I'm wrong let me know. The 4-way I recommend for your van is part # C56331. It plugs in behind both tail lights inline with the existing wiring. Then there's one wire that needs to be run to the van's battery for power. This way the trailer's lights are powered from the van's battery directly and now putting strain on the electrical system.
