If you don't already have electrical connectors on your 2016 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited then you will need to start off by installing a 4-Way connector like the T-One # 118416. This plugs in behind your tail lights and will give you the basic lighting functions for your trailer.
One the T-One is installed you need to install the Universal Wiring Kit # ETBC7. This comes with all of the wiring and connectors you need to have a fully-functioning 7-way (and 4-Way) at the rear of your Jeep.
If you do have the factory tow package then you will simply need the part # HM40975-11933 which connects to the factory connector at the rear of your Jeep.
You will also need to install a brake controller if your trailer has brakes. I recommend going with the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 as the LCD screen makes it very easy to read and use. To install the controller you either need to connect it to the wires of the ETBC7 kit or by using the kit # 5506 if you have the factory tow package.
Examples of each installation have been linked for you to check out as well as some helpful articles.
