On your Fleetwood Discovery motor home, the standard 7-Way connector should have the following wires and functions.
1. White - ground
2. Blue - brake controller output
3. Brown - running lights
4. Black - 12-volt power
5. Yellow - left turn and brake
6. Green - right turn and brake
7. Purple - reverse lights (center pin)
I would recommend using a circuit tester, part # PTW2993, and test the 7-Way for which functions are working.
To install a brake controller on your motor home you will need to have power at the 12 volt power terminal (black wire) and power to the brake controller output terminal (blue wire) on the 7-Way.
If you need to run wire to those connections on your 7-Way, I recommend using the # 10-2-1 wire. This wire is a jacketed duplex 10-gauge wire that can be used to connect both the 12-volt power from the battery and the blue wire from the brake controller to the 7-way on the back of your motor home. For the 12-volt battery connection wire you will also need to use an inline 40-amp circuit breaker like the # 9510. The duplex wire is sold by the foot so you will need to determine the length of wire you will need to run from the back of your motor home to the front.
I am including a link to a FAQ page on wiring. It will show the colors and functions on a standard 7-Way connector. Also, I am including a video link that will describe how to wire the power and brake output wires.
